Sometimes only the classics will do. In the summertime, I want iced tea, and I don’t want to heat water to do it.

Summertime is time to relax, hopefully by some kind of body of water. With lots of sunscreen. Or is that just me? I’m a pasty white girl, but hey, with all the sunscreen I need to apply, I’ll hopefully look young forever.
In the shade, I want iced tea when the weather turns hot. Why? It’s a classic, and it goes down smooth and easy. One thing I don’t normally do is sweeten my iced tea – whether it’s green or black. I like it straight, with lots of ice.
Do you know how to make iced tea? It’s easier than you think.

You don’t have to do much work to get your iced tea brewing. No hot water, and no hot sun. Just water and tea bags overnight (or so). Just like my iced coffee, I like my tea cold-brewed. It makes for a smoother drink, and can be a little weak, so I make sure there’s lots of tea to go around.
Mine is strong, so we’ll just call it an iced tea concentrate. Because I don’t want to do extra work. It’s hot, and I’ve got sunscreen to put on.
So, go grab a big mason jar, some tea, and pour in that water. Tomorrow’s going to be sunny, with a side of iced tea.
- 4 tea bags (or 1 teaspoon loose leaf tea)
- 32 ounces filtered water
- Place tea in large container.
- Pour water over, and cover.
- Chill 8 hours to overnight, and remove tea bags.
- Serve over ice.
