When ingredients are flying, recipes being tried, and food being made in the kitchen, supplies need to be ready to go. Keep your measuring spoons handy with this tip.

I loooooove to bake, but I don’t like frantically looking for things while I’m in the middle of a recipe. I get stressed out, and being in the kitchen becomes an exercise in frustration. So, this little trick is for keeping those wayward measuring spoons handy and organized.
Oh sweet baby bunting… where IS that 1/4 teaspoon?!
I have a lot of mason jars. Really, I think I might need therapy. BUT, I use a vast majority of them (when they aren’t filled with jam or pickles) around the kitchen. I love to use them for storage, but also to keep things readily available… like measuring spoons. Have you ever been in the middle of a recipe, desperately rooting around in your drawer, looking for the right one? No more, my sweet darlings!

{Tip}: Keep your measuring spoons in a mason jar. I have them in a small jelly jar (yes, those are really my spoons), that fits in a drawer in the heart of the kitchen. I take out my recipe, and my little jar o’ spoons and get cookin’. The jar helps them stand up, so I can easily spot the one I need.
{Bonus Tip}: Keep TWO sets of measuring spoons at the ready: One for dry ingredients, and one for wet ingredients. Ever measured vanilla extract and then realized you also needed the same measurement of cinnamon… which is now all wet? Now you’ll have two, and life will be that much better.
Wait, you don’t have two sets of measuring spoons? Or a mason jar you like for this purpose? Well, here are some excellent choices:
Elongated spoons to reach into your spice containers
Roundish spoons a little more suited to liquids
Small jar I just might use myself (cuz I’m crazy like that)
Now, go grab a jar (or a small vase works too), and get those spoons all cozy inside. Now you’re ready to bake your heart out!
